THE FIFTH ESTATE ANNOUNCES:

<strong>A DESIGN COMPETITION FOR THE U.S.-SAUDI WAR MEMORIAL</strong>

Entries should be based on some of the following design elements:

 * A war for oil.

 * The slaughter of youth and innocents on both sides.

 * Industrialism’s demand to sustain oil as the dominant energy source despite its ecological destructiveness.

 * Finding a new enemy to justify massive war budgets.

Any other appropriate ideas from the accompanying <em>Fifth Estate</em> article [“War in Iraq: Imperial Death Trip to Nowhere,” [[https://www.fifthestate.org/archive/335-winter-1990-91/war-in-iraq/][FE #335, Winter, 1990–91]]].

Send designs to us and a copy to the man who will preside over this monument’s dedication—George Bush.
