The Inner City Has a Voice

There is an obvious need for revolutionary media in the black community, states editor John Watson in explaining the creation of a new newspaper for the black community.

Titled the Inner-City Voice, the new paper which has already printed two issues expects to become a weekly with a circulation of more than 30,000 within a few months.

Operating from offices at 253 E. Warren, the paper’s staff of movement veterans includes in addition to John Watson as editor, Managing Editor James Williams, Business Manager Mike Hamlin, News Editor Curt Slaughter; Feature Editor, Edna Ewell, Photo Editor, Sidney Fields and Office Manager Tommy Glover.

Continuing his description of why the paper was started, Watson added, radicals. We see the paper as a skeleton around which to build, it is a collective organizer for the entire black community.

In supporting the paper Frank H. Joyce, executive Secretary of People Against Racism (PAR) stated, Whites who would seek to understand the dynamic motion of the black community will find the Inner-City Voice essential. I urge that they subscribe.
