Black Detroit In Photos
The photographs of Ken Hamblin, photographic director for Detroit Scope Magazine, will be featured in an exhibit combining photography and poetry in the Fine Arts Corridor of the Detroit Main Library from May 12 to June 14.
Hamblin’s photos have appeared several times in the Fifth Estate and the WSU South End.
Hamblin’s shots from his “Black Detroit” portfolio will be exhibited exclusively along with poetry from Dudley Randall’s Broadside Press portfolio.
Hamblin also has picture credits in the Detroit Free Press, Action Age, Ebony Magazine and several community and student newspapers in the Detroit area.
Randall is the head of Reference and Interloans of the Wayne County Library and the creator of the Broadside Press, which exists for the published expression of poets.
Hours for viewing the exhibit will be 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday.
