A group from Trans-Love had gone to Woodstock, to raise funds for brother John Sinclair’s defense and trial costs.

On the return trip through New Jersey the suspicious looking bunch, traveling in a rented van, were apprehended by the Law. While snooping around the pigs noticed one of the group had a knife. This was all the excuse they needed for searching the entire vehicle. Their efforts produced a substance they claimed to be the taboo weed, marijuana.

As a result John’s wife, Leni, White Panther Minister of Defense Pun Plamondon, Geni Plamondon, White Panther Corresponding Secretary, Scott Kutina, manager of the Kraak blues band, and another Kraak member were arrested and are being held in the Bergen County jail in Hackensack, N.J. on a bond of $5500 for all five.

In the meantime John remains a political prisoner in Jackson prison. One of John’s attorneys, Sheldon Otis, still has a motion before the Michigan Supreme Court to grant him an appeal bond, but there is no word of the outcome at this writing.

The legal fees incurred by Trans-Love of late are enormous. Contributions for John’s defense and bond expenses can be sent to John Sinclair Defense Fund, 1510 Hill St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
